I received an email today from one of my mentors, Todd Rutledge of Mountain Trip. Now, I could write a whole post about Todd and his influence on my life and getting me psyched, pushing my self-imposed limits, and challenging me to redefine adventure in my life. Todd is an amazing athlete, climber, and entrepreneur. But, today’s Friday Stoke is about something entirely different.
Todd’s son is enrolled in the Piedra Learning Center in Bayfield, Colorado. The school is established to provide a hands-on, eclectic, alternative elementary education. Â They are doing amazing work with a small group of very special kids. The school focuses on children with Sensory Processing Disorder or who are on the Autism Spectrum.
Now, the place where adventure comes in – well, I’d argue that the greatest adventure is in providing these kids an amazing education, but here is the other “adventure”. Todd is hosting an auction for 7 days of private guiding in the amazing and remote Alaska Range as a fund raiser for the school. Its a win-win: help the school and kids receive an education and you get schooled in the art of climbing in Alaska with one of the world’s best climbing guides.
You can find more info here: Alaska Range Benefit Climb and through the Mountain Trip Facebook page as well.
Help spread the word and support the school, get some amazing climbing in – adventure in everything!
